Giving up your seat

Photobucket

I was really angry at how young people these days just refuse to give up their seats to those who really need it. Just like today, it was evening and the train ain't that packed.

on the priority seat sat a uni student, listening to ipod, reading to her god-knows-what textbook. (so hardwork, as if!) next to her is a young working adult sms-ing. so there stood a old woman, having bags in her hands. I was playing games on my phone, standing. So i just looked and wondering when will these 2 young people give up their seat for the poor old lady in front of them. Apparently, after a few stations. Both of them were still happily on their seats, oblivious to the old woman!

*&($)#* !!! (my OS) then i asked the old woman LOUDLY:(conversation is all in chinese)

me: Auntie, where are you alighting?

old woman: Boon lay (btw, we are still at commonwealth station, so it's still a distance to boon lay station)

me: your leg is in pain? (seems so to me)

old woman: yar, i just came back from seeing the doctor

me: oh... how come young people don't give up their seats for you?

Now now... it's so loud, i'm sure the working adult should hav heard it. Her face CHANGED... so young working adult, you heard it loud and clear and why the heck is your arse still on the seat??!!!

I've always think that it's common sense, and basic knowledge to give up seats to those who need it more than you do.

anyways, the old woman got her seat when somebody else where stood up to alight.

Now, next time if i see such things, i'll just go up to the person and simply ask if it's alright to give up a seat to somebody who needs it more than he/she does.

Never be pai say about such things. cos that person should feel pai say not giving up seats.
